Setting up My Personal Cloud: BeeStation

    12 December 2024

Why I Chose Synology BeeStation: My Personal Cloud Journey as a Creator + Mom

You know that feeling when your phone’s storage hits 99%, your laptop’s about to burst, and your hard drive starts playing hide-and-seek with your files? Yeah, been there, done that. As someone juggling a content creator life and mom duties, I realized I needed to level up my storage game before things got out of hand.

And that’s where Synology BeeStation comes in—a total lifesaver that’s now my go-to for organizing, backing up, and securing all my files in one place. Whether it’s work content or endless baby photos (because let’s be real, I’m that mom), BeeStation handles it all like a pro.

    When My Storage Struggles Hit

Here’s the thing: content creation isn’t just about taking pretty photos or editing videos. It’s about managing everything—raw footage, final edits, social media drafts, and more. Add my new role as a mom, and suddenly, I’m drowning in gigabytes of baby videos, milestone photos, and cute-but-slightly-blurry selfies. I had photos on my phone, raw files on my camera, external hard drives piling up, and don’t even ask how many cloud subscriptions I was paying for.

    Before BeeStation, I was constantly:

    • Running out of space: My phone and external drives would hit their limits, and I’d waste hours figuring out what to delete.
    • The cloud subscription fees were making my wallet cry. / My phone hit storage full AGAIN (right in the middle of capturing a cute Reii moment 😭).
    • Worrying about privacy: Cloud subscriptions freaked me out—who’s looking at my files?
    • Chasing scattered files: My photos were everywhere, and I could never find the one I really needed.

Sound familiar? I think this is all our first world problems lol. I needed something that could keep up with my work-life-mom-life chaos—and that’s how I found Synology BeeStation!

    BeeStation: The Game-Changer

Setting up my own personal cloud sounded like a hard thing?! But Synology BeeStation? It’s surprisingly easy (and even a noob girl like me can do the setup myself within 5 mins! Easy peasy). BeeStation has been a lifesaver. Now, I’ve got everything organized, backed up, and ready to access anytime. It gives me all the space I need to store and back up my high-res videos and photos without the stress of  “Oops, no storage.”

Here’s how BeeStation fits perfectly into my life:

    1. Space for Everything I Love:
From client projects to mini vlog clips of my daughter, I never run out of storage. BeeStation grows with me, and I can finally stop deleting photos just to make room.

    2. Photo Overload:
Let’s be honest, once you become a mom, your camera roll is 99% your baby. Every smile, every milestone, every random nap moment—I want to save it all! With BeeStation, I don’t have to worry about running out of space on my phone or losing these precious memories. Every milestone my daughter hits is backed up, safe and sound. I know these memories aren’t going anywhere—even if my phone takes an accidental swim in the bathtub.

    3. Super Organized, Always:
Finding files used to feel like digging through a messy closet. Now, it’s like opening a perfectly labeled drawer. Work, family, travel—all neatly sorted and one click away. Plus, I can access everything from my phone, laptop, or even on the go.

    4. Privacy on Lock:
My files stay on my server, at home, with no third-party peeping in. Work files? Baby pictures? Safe, private, mine.  Just my own private little cloud system, safe and sound.

Setting Up My BeeStation: Easy Peasy!

I’m not a tech pro, before I have my BeeStation I was always wondering “Is it too technical? Will I mess it up?” But surprise—it was WAY easier than I thought:

      1. Downloaded the app, followed the simple setup guide.
      2. Connected it to Wi-Fi.
      3. Customized my settings for automatic backups (aka, my life became 100x easier). Just set it up once, and now my phone, laptop, and camera all sync automatically.

Now, every time I snap a photo or finish editing a video, it’s automatically backed up to my BeeStation. Hands-free storage? YES PLEASE. You can also download app on phone: BeeFiles & BeePhotos to access it anytime and everywhere.

Why I Love It as a Creator + Mom

          Let me break it down:

          • BeeStation saves me from storage overload, gives me easy access to files while traveling, and keeps everything secure.
          • My files are sorted and easy to find—whether it’s a brand campaign or Reii’s baby giggles, safely storing every “first”—from her first steps to her latest silly faces.
          • Cost-Effective: Instead of paying for multiple cloud services, I made a one-time investment.
          • Safe + Secure: My family memories and work projects are stored safely, and I’m in full control.

          The Little Things That Matter

Since using BeeStation, I’ve had time to enjoy life without stressing over tech stuff. I can focus on what really matters—creating content I’m proud of and soaking up every moment with my little one.

I even caught myself smiling the other day while organizing my files (who am I?). Seeing my work and family life beautifully stored and sorted just feels... RIGHT!

So, whether you’re chasing deadlines as a content creator or capturing life’s cutest moments as a parent, BeeStation makes everything so much easier.

Ready to Start Your Cloud Journey?

Whether you’re a busy content creator, a proud parent, or someone tired of messy storage, constant notifications, and subscription fees, it’s time to take control. Synology BeeStation has truly been a game-changer for me, and I’m sure you’ll love it too! Imagine having your own private, organized cloud—no monthly fees, no privacy worries!
